SHUT UP AND DANCE BEFORE THE POLICE COME

Bit of a history lesson here from the man like DJ Producer – a mix dedicated to the seminal UK Hardcore label Shut Up and Dance. The imprint defined the breakbeat hardcore sounds of the early 90′s, incorporating influences from reggae, ragga, hip hop and house, and paved the way for the emergent jungle scene and all that followed. Their ‘don’t give a fuck’ attitude to both the authorities and the legalities of sampling saw tracks banned and withdrawn, whilst adding to the label’s renegade allure.
SUAD’s influence runs deep in the rave scene and can be seen as an intrinsic part of the evolution of today’s bass music culture. THIS IS HARDCORE.
